A collaboration with flooring company Forbo. The brief was to create two patterns in the same family for a public space. I was one of the selected students that had the opportunity to produce both my patterns into samples. My story was inspired by the Japanese zen philosophy of Ikebana floral arrangements, and creating harmony through empty space. My first pattern is a tile mural made in Marmoleum, that would work as a centrepiece in a lounge or an entrance.

The second pattern is made in Flotex, representing scattered flower petals overlapping squares, creating a natural balance between organic and geometric forms. For both patterns I made both analogue and digital collages as part of my process.
